Unlined, lightweight, stretchy, slightly see through. For reference, the dress is photographed on a modern size 2 dressform. All is not lost though – give it a quick steam and it will look like new.

Elegant mid-century little black dress with a fitted bodice, straight skirt, elbow-length sleeves, high bateau-style front neckline, and low square back. The attached wide sash / scarf-like detail drapes over the front skirt and finishes with black fringe.

Has some staining but they were wiping out with oxy and a baby wipe. Missing 1 pearl button on the sleeve. Too pretty to toss needs some TLC A good launder might do the trick.

Measurements (laid flat) Waist: 11.5″ (23″ doubled) Pit to pit: 14″ (28″ doubled) Length: 38.5″ (shoulder hem to bottom hem) No stretch at all to this fabric, so definitely check measurements before buying. Definitely a synthetic fabric, but I’m not sure which. Based on the construction, I believe this dress was handmade. My best guess on age is c. 1950s or 60s, judging from the silhouette.
