The first generation of D&B's Cavalry Collection from 1986-87, the large Trooper was their 'flagship' for that line. The special All-Weather Leather had been around for a few years by then, but it was the perfect choice for these saddle shaped bags as it holds its shape so well, thick, durable, almost indestructible. We have a conflict on color, though, Navy vs Black, and it's becoming like "the dress," see below. All agree it has British Tan trim, solid brass hardware. The strap is adjustable, meant for crossbody wear. The unique clasp is based on an antique ammo pouch, a brass plate with keyhole slips over a pommel, in keeping with the historical military and equestrian vibe of these bags.
